Blueberries are a good source of resveratrol and flavonoids. Resveratrol is the phytochemical originally identified in grapes and wine. While there are hundreds of different flavonoids, blueberries are a primary source of a group called anthocyanidins. The anthocyaindins are responsible for the colour of blueberries and they contribute numerous health benefits when consumed. This reduces many risks related to health conditions.
